I don't know anything about Pekins but to me they look great, Youri. They look happy in their new home too.

well done . good for you. Cheers julie ps. I like your garden from the website. Permaculture is just so sensible and good. I want to go do a course myself. Friends of ours are landscape gardeners but install permaculture principles and fully sustainable gardens wherever they can. Now back on topic. . .

Youri, these look like nice healthy pekins, I love the colour of your roo! And sounds like you have about as much self control as me  I really wish Ruff lived closer...you can't get transport from your end to ours can you?? I'm interested to know what colour you can expect from that roo and the mottle hen...Looks like you've got your hands full and a lot of fun ahead of you!! :chicks:

youri will most likely get blacks and normal cuckoos only from the cross to the mottle.all will be split for mottling. also half the pullets will be albino which means he will get greys and cuckoo greys...if he has good husbandry skills to rear them...they will test him.

from the little buffish hen he will get possibly buff cuckoos maybe even creel ckls and again half females will be albino and white in this case with grey where ever they were going to be grey. some will be split for mottling.

when crossing the offspring...well i still haven't managed to breed a mottled cuckoo and that would be very interesting. the rooster back to his albino daughters is the only way he is going to get an albino rooster, which will be an interesting bird as all its daughters to a non albino hen will be albino.

there are many other things he will get in future generations but that is in the future.
