Hi,

I have used a Partridge Wyandotte hen to a Partridge Brahma Male to increase the size. And the following 2 boys are the resultant offpring -

This is the first picture of one of my Partridge Brahma X Partridge Wyandotte crosses from last seasons matings. A young Partridge cockrel
Image

and showing his chest markings being the pullet breeder that he is.
Image

I weighed him tonight and he is currently 3.7 kilos at age 27 weeks. He weighed in at 3.1 kilos at 20 weeks.

Tomorrow I will take a pic of his brother (nearly identical except brother has nearly all black breast) and compare.

I am more than happy with him. :D

Thank You.

Yes Ruff, thats it eggactly!!!

Its raining today so maybe not a pic of his brother :( until either tomorrow or when the sun comes out again.

Kyles, keep that girl for me as I gave all my girls away   as I wasn't going to breed on with Partridge this year, but hey as he has developed into such a handsome BIG boy I'd be mad not too and he looks good wandering around the grounds :D , brings abit of colour into the place.

And back on topic, it has been too wet for me to take a pic of the brother today and have been battening down the hatches and putting EXTRA sandbags on chook tractors in preparation for this forcasted GALE FORCE WINDS arriving tomorrow :aaargh:

Hi, sorry i didn't get these up on friday.

First is the old man Gold Partridge Brahma roo. He is moulting.(Victoria's cockrel's Father)
Image

His Mother Partridge Wyandotte Pullet breeder.(Victoria's cockrel's mother)
Image
Please excuse the photo. She would not cooperate.
Next is his sister with leg feathering. She is not laying yet so she still has a lot of growing to do.

You can see there is a long way to go with the foot feathers and type but it will be a lot easier when she can produce cockrals like Victoria's.

If some PB partridge breeders can give us a few pointers, that would be much appreciated.

Again i must apologise for the quality of the pictures.

Daza

What i do find interesting is My Partridge have brown tail feathers not black as with the ones in Ruff's picture.

This is a closeup of the Partridge Wyandotte's feathering.

A good looking cockral.
I'm keen to see if any Wyandotte breeders would think it's worth putting him back to a Wyandotte hen.
