Hi

Anyone been to Adelaide Zoo - Childrens Zoo section recently and knows what breeds they have in the chook run? They have some really nice looking birds that are golden/bronze in colour with a darker brown "scarf" around their necks (sorry not up with the terminology). By the size of them they look like bantams. I tried asking, but that end of the zoo is only ever staffed by volunteers and they don't know what breed any of the chooks are. I will try and get a photo on a visit soon.

cheers

CBSA

I am guessing that they would be Red Jungle Fowl just because they are in the zoo.

Did they look like this:

Sorry nope. They have a kids section full of domestic animals so there are no wild breeds in there as far as my (admittedly inexperienced) eye can see. There are some silkies (I think...the ones with feathers down over their eyes all the time) and some nice white ones with the neat black cape.
