I've noticed that many Aussie Game these days tend to have a very wide stance, so much so that the thighs are wider than the shoulders. I think this is referred to as standing 'outside themselves'. For a meat fowl this is probably a good thing. However to my understanding this a conformation problem in a gamefowl that need to have their feet under their body for better agility. My experience with such a leg conformation is that it tends toward bowleggedness (as the bird puts on weight) with extra strain being placed on the outer hip and hock joints.

This is done through conditioning Wildman, heavy exercise,50% protein powder and "training"will get you strong muscle tone definition and stamina(check the thigh muscle's in the pics)

He probably wouldn't win any classic 'Standard" awards at a poultry show,But remember this bird is 2-0 verse Mr. Fox

Regards
Smiddy,

Hi Aaron, another nice type, you have a nice collection, this one has nice eyes although lacking brows and the triple pea comb.. I personally prefer them untouched or if they carried an excessive large comb or wattles it can be bred out of them from selective breeding.. I noticed a kink of some sort on his keel/breast bone it could be from roosting on a sharp edge at night..
His legs look so dark they seem black..

Thanks for sharing photos I enjoy seeing your birds.. I had to neglect breeding mine this season because I needed to focus with Shamo before my originals got too old, this is the problem with line breeding until my numbers are up, next season I get back to Aussies.

G'day chickenpox thanks for the comments mate. I prefer them undubbed aswell but sometimes I get a little bored.
I don't know to much about shamo mate or many other breeds for that matter as spent half my life with Aussie game. Here is another pic of one of my boys from my original line which I'm led to believe this line was started in the early 1960s. Sorry mate I trimmed him to just out of curiosity!!

Gosh this one is pretty, how is the way they hold their shoulder out and high, don’t they look awesome in this pose..
You not wrong when you said his line dates back to the sixties or even beyond, his facial genes speak for themselves without any fluff or stubble, amazing outline around his hackle down to his throat… I can see a lot of years making his genes allele to reach his stage… His strain would be my favorite.

I don’t like Shamo’s crosses as a first preference, I think I keep them because our Australian game breed are so look alike plus I like crossing them together to create prehistoric featured birds similar to those in Pakistan/ India..

Although I can't recall the date right now, the South Burnett Feather Club is hosting an Australian Breeds Specialty Show in early 2014 and this includes an Australian Game feature. I will see if I can find the date. It's a great club to visit.
