I have black cuckoo roosters and hens. Is it possible to cross with a blue hen or rooster to get blue cuckoo ? I am also trying to imrpove type.

Further I have a young blue cuckoo rooster if he was crossed with a cuckoo pullett would he produce a percentage of blue cuckoo chicks ?

Black cuckoo hen x Blue rooster = 25% black cuckoo roosters, 25% blue cuckoo roosters, 25% black hens, 25% blue hens.

Black cuckoo rooster x Blue hen = either all progeny cuckoo, half of which would be blue and half black

or half progeny cuckoo and half plain and half blue and half black.

Barring on blue is very indistinct, the reason perhaps why it has never been a popular colour.

Hi,

I just bought a Cuckoo Rooster and black hen, I have put my splash hen in with them.
Will I acheive Blue Cuckoos from my Splash girl?? (eager to learn more on genetics)
