Hi,

I am wanting to contact anyone who has Cream Legbars or who knows of the history of the development of this breed in Australia.
I am putting together a website on Cream Legbars and want to accurately portray the history in the "Australian" section.

I have bred a number of Cream Legbars over the last couple of years and I am a member of the International Cream Legbar Club. My purpose is to find out some of the background that has led to their development here in Australia and to connect with like-minded people who wish to promote this breed here in Australia.

If you can help in this regard please contact me per email. The website should be ready to launch at Easter time.

Cheers

Terry

NEP,

I think they are talking about legbars, there is no mention of cream legbars (the blue egg layers).

Generally the australian ones lack the cream gene, but I think I've found the gene. So I'm working on moving it in.

Hi every one .
I m going to activate this thread .
I m working with Terry hill in a big breeding project .and all his chooks are in my farm with mine .

So I have his Cream LegBar .
he had few different line but we lost quite few last few years .( i had trouble with my previous farms).

now we have a Trio of gorgeous big chooks come from his friend who got them from Cathy s WA

other they come from different peoples .

I like Cathy s more and I m focusing on breeding them .1 trio plus a hen from different line .

managed to hatch some chicks out of them and I m still incubating every egg they lay.

they are good layer as good as my marans .
they thrieve in free ranging .they don t do very well in small spaces without access to the dirt and grass . this girls they spend most of they day covered by dirt .

here few photos of them in they outdoor pen
2 hens lay Blue colored eggs and the other one she lay light green eggs

File comment: easy to sex at hatch .3 boys no stripes and 2 girls .

Good to see! Yes there are true-breeding and there are mixed lines out there being called 'Cream Legbars'. They're mostly not 'Cream' however as they don't have the 'ig' gene.

Here's a couple of young cockerels of my Crested Legbar line. The Cream gene is being moved into a second line with the ultimate aim of putting all the right traits together.
