I didn't go back on the Sunday - as a result the kids still have a dwindling inheritance.
I am glad he is being used for a purpose that was my hope when I put him up here. His father came from good stock and improved the egg colour in my marans although still has a looong way to go.

Jose do you still have the Araucanas? I met some one at the Canberra show who is looking for a contact to improve her Whites?

Yes I still have the white aras .
I m trying to get rid o them all .
they ae stunning chooks .inbred line for the last 5 years .

is bee a while since I posted .too many things to do ,plus razing 400 chicks in the heat of the summer was not easy but is done .well pleased .
the older group are 6 months old now ,healthy and happy .
the pullets stat to lay this week .only few .
here some photos .

I m well pleased .
haven t taking a day of since I moved to this place . too much to do . BUT I m well happy .
I did a lot catching up with my breeding program .
all this years of hard work and trouble moving is paying of .

I managed to breed good looking marans . great type and well colored . a lot to select from for the next year breeding season .

my hens they finished molting .they look great with they new plumage . they are about 5 weeks before I pen them with they roosters too breed from this Spring .
I should netter result because the breeders are looking great well healthy and well rested .one month more rest .
they are just coming to lay few eggs a days

yeah my friend they are looking great .
looking forward to breed from them .
this breeding season I should be able to breed the Double barred Golden cuckoo marans Black and Blue .I have the hens I need to pair with the 2 GCM cockerels . they grand mothers Chelsea.Cheetah and Channel . all the 3 hens lay large dark egg

I can t wait to see the next generation more diverse too

Jose you have done very well since your arrival at your new property, birds look exceptionally good. Erickson3 is a stand out in my opinion.

Ah somebody with a Black tail buff marans .where did you get yours from .

I got mine from WA 4 years ago

your cuckoo marans are English or french type?

love my cuckoo .I m working with a silver and the golden .black and blue

here some photos of the eggs I pick up yesterday and today from the pullets pen. they just coming to lay .

well pleased.
