Jose i have some eggs from your roo now under a broody welsummer, will see if some hatch, he has been a busy boy with the girls so will see what i get. Also i will be from now saving the darkest eggs for the next batch in bator along with blr bantam wyandotte eggs and golden pheasant eggs. I wish now i had a bigger bator or a suro hatcher. The slw cross barnie pullets are growing well, can't wait to see what colour eggs they lay and see if will be useful back to him. If all goes well am aiming for silver laced marans, will be crosses but, a few generations might get some uniformity. All fun but. Black laced red bantam wyandotte roo cant be let out or he gives Pierre a serious hard time, same as he does to the silkie roos.

good to hear you have some egg backing . you should have a good result because of the hybrid vigor Pierre is going to bring . he is a new blood never been mixed with your chooks before .

can wait to see what he ll throw . some laced maran sound great to me .

i m working with a same parent stock this year too ,see if they ll throw a laced pullet this time so I can send it your way .

all the best

Jose, just filled bator with the best dark eggs, some will be from the 2 marans cross and some from the dlg barnies over Pierre, 3 chicks have hatched under a hen from him, 2 wheaton down colour and a black with a small white dot on the back of head- maybe barred. Still have a Welsummer hen sitting on eggs. Pierre now has settled in and is working hard  . Noisy now but  . Jose your dark eggs set look nice and dark  , some of mine good and dark too.

That good you have some chicks from him .
the black one with a white dot is a cuckoo . the wheaten looking one are not wheaten ,they will feather up differently . he hatched with a wheaten hatch down .

all the best

The one with the small white dot on head the cuckoo, does this mean is a pullet, dont the cockerals have a large fuzzy white area on back of head :hmmm: . The other two wheatons have wing feathers coming through, both are almost white with a buff tinge. One has a rose comb so not sure of mother.

Welsummer has hatched hers, 13 chicks :nuts , plus i put in 3 of ,day old silkie chicks with her, covering all well  , a lot of wheaton down chicks plus some dark ones, i did put under her some blr bantam wyandotte eggs as well, so hope these are the darker chicks, look to have the right down colour.. the eggs in the bator, about 70 % fertile, so will be interesting hatch, some are pierre cross dgl barnie and others cross marans cross..

that s great .you seem to be very happy with Pierre .

I had 0 hatch . because I mix up the plugging . I plugged the Ultra Sonic Humidifier on the wrong socket witch was off .and I plugged the Cool mister on the socket witch was on .

should be other way around .

fixed it .
Bob Peel from greatLander was so helpful .

tonight moving the second lot 112 egg, all candled and all carry large embryos to the Hatcher . let see what happen in 3 day s time .

all the best

moved the eggs to the hatcher .I don t think they will come out .not all especially the one on the bottom try , let see .

now the bator is working properly for last 3 day . well in control of the temperature and humidity .

new eggs went today to be incubated 88 eggs .

I ll put one try each 6 days rather than 1and half try every 9 days . too hot this days .

I want to see some chicks .
