They are a lovely breed aren't they. I have two hens here named Soft and Gentle respectively and am very fond of the gentle giants. :-)

Those names are perfect. If they weren't so heavy they would be a super easy breed to handle.

Sue that last photo of pullet i thought at first was cockerel as looks like pointed saddle feathers :hmmm: , they look good and solid, what weights are they..

Mycoola re the last pic. - definitely pullet - she's about the same age as the cockerel.
The standards say (female) "Tail may have two feathers slightly curved and projecting about 2.5 cm beyond the rest" I haven't seen this before but will be interested to see if that's whats happening with the "pointy saddle feathers".

I'll weigh them hopefully in a couple of days and will show a couple at Canberra Queanbeyan in early August.
