this rooster named Viking Red need to be mated to a specific hen to correct the hackle and saddle color in the future progeny .the hen must carry the Mahogany Mh gene . I have 2 hen for this project waiting for him this breeding season .

you welcome . it is lovely to share with you guys my work ,will help some people to how to breed marans .
last breeding season was just testing my new cockerels to see what they produce ,well pleased with them .this winter is going to be a real breeding ,proper pairing .
I m building a second breeding farm up north no far from tweet head NSW . will have a lot of space to breed all marans varieties . all the new pens will be finished by late winter . I will be taking the old flock with me ,the younger bird will stay with Troy s to mature .will not breed from them this year .
all moving forward . happy about things .

Exciting year ahead for you Jose, two farms will be a handful. I'm thinking of using one Blue copper cockerel with the splash pullets as keepers.
Loving the colour and how bright the splashes are., Need to take some photos.

yes my friend 2 farms at 900 km apart is hard to manage but I can do it for sure .
Blue copper cockerel { he is a son of Conan The Barbarian over the Black copper hens } over Splash pullet { Khabib Daughter } will be great pairing ,you should get some good looking marans from them ,love to see some photos please .
