Does anyone know of any effect chickens and ducks roamng arond your fruit trees can have on fruit fly?I have just had my first bout of fruit fly devastation on my nectarine tree, we have been here 15 years and grown successful organic fruit until now :cry: .can my girls help?

Yes your chooks can help you.As the fruit falls on the ground the chooks get to eat it and it stops the larve of the fruit fly from hatching as the chooks have eaten it.I'm sure they will slow things down for you so your next season of fruit should be better with not many fruit flys .Also try hanging fruit fly traps on the trees with a banana skin in it or vegimite the fruit fly love it so they are then trapped in the trap.So between chooks and traps you should be right.
