I was unable to get into my garden for a couple of weeks. During that time we had good rain and untamed vines, with gleeful abandon, smothered shrubs and small trees within reach! These New Guinea Beans (Lagenaria siceraria) are ideally picked at no more than about 15cm in length and are used as zucchini substitutes. I'm off to the zucchini recipe thread for inspiration.

The snake beans only take a couple of days to go from picking size to that for seed collection - as the 2 pods in the photo did.
