I have them in the garden too. I think they're harmless- the chooks eat them.

Found this http://www.whatsthatbug.com/2010/02/05/australian-flatworm/ that seems to pin it as an Australian Flatworm that feeds on snails...

If I had known that - I wouldn't have salted it.

But I was running late for work and couldn't risk a massive leech or strange Australian parasite running free in the garden...
