Is it a Nelly Kelly brand of passion fruit? If so, it will not fruit. I have bought a number of Nelly Kelly passion plants over the years, planted in different suburbs over the years: no fruit. Other people I have spoken to have had the same lack of success: great foliage, no fruit. I don't know how the company can stay in business. I will never, never buy another Nelly Kelly plant, ever again.

Passion fruit are tropical plants.

If you live in a cooler area the position ans variety are very important.

I think what you've had is a Nelly Kelly "grafted" passionfruit.
The graft dies and the robust root stock takes over giving heaps of leaf growth and no fruit.
If you select a non grafted plant their should be no further incidence of not bearing fruit.
I have had this experience so now never buy a grafted plant, many others I have seen have had a similar experience to yours.
The worst part is the root stock suckers and can be very wide spread particularly in or over a fowl pen with the extra manure, moisture and soft fertile ground that stimulates leaf growth as it is in an ideal position to thrive.
