I have this old griller for use on an open fire to grill meat.
I noticed that when I threw the green leaves into the pen the chooks tried to pick a peck but the leaves usually did not tear very well so the chooks gave up pretty quick.

I thought the griller would be handy for the chooks to eat greens from.

I fill it at night so they have it during the next day. They eat all the leaves right down to the tough central ribs.
I sometimes fill it & place it against the netting fence it the weather is inclement so they can still get some greens without getting wet. I hook the handle up through the netting so it stands up & doesn't fall over when they tug at the leaves.
