Hi,
I'm definitely not a newbie to showing but hear different things from different breeders as to the feeding on the last day leading up to show day :aaah! . Last year I fed my birds right up to the night before and ended with a very loose pooie bottom on my hen. I washed her down and combed it through but it still dried looking as if it had been washed and hadn't time for the hen to preen. I still got Reserve Champion. The judge pointed out that he would have given her Champion if she didn't have that look. :grn
My preference like all of us I am sure would be to look and see a dry clean bottom before penning. I am interested to know from breeders do you reduce their feed the day before and/or when do you stop feeding them.

Kind regards
Lana

I only show in a very amateur way but my birds only get grain the night before - 'cleaner' poo than from pellets. Same when I put them into an auction - they need to look their best.
