:D Hello everyone
Well I have decided to take the plunge and I would like some advice I have decided to try showing poultry I want to start with bantams first Could you suggest some breeds for a beginner I don't want breeds that are difficult to get ready for show or hard to breed
Is anybody going to Euroa poultry auction If so I might need some advice on what to start with if there is any show quality bantams there

If I was starting out with showing . First I would choose a breed that easy care , eg non wash even though I wash all my birds . A bird that is known to judges , eg OEG , Langshan etc . Buy the best you can afford . Dont buy from a auction , see a reputable breeder
But the most inportant dont get a dozen breeds , specalize with 1 or 2 .
And get a breed YOU like :!:
Best of luck , and you will have fun like the rest of us breeders and showers
Tony :D

Firstly, congratulations to Tony on his posting perforance of "proud rooster". You are off to a good lead

But on a more serioius note, Ian, I will be at the Euroa Auction, and would be happy to go through the exhibits before auction for their exhibition and breeding potential for a "start" in showing. Email me, and I will give you details on how to find me on the day. Tony mentioned some valid points on preference to buy from breeders direct.
