Thanks

Only class we were eligible for that we missed was light female. Just one if those days when the decisions went our way.

Some Pictures (more in Gallery if you want to have a look). My pictures are not always good but I am trying to get better. This show is a mid-sized agricultural show but well supported by the community and a fun day out and unlike a lot of ag shows in Victoria that happen during the breeding season this one is an opportunity to give some early young birds a run.

Champion Bird - Australian Langshan Bantam Pullet

Reserve Champion Bird - Blue tailed Wheaten OEG

Champion Hardfeather Male - Australian Game Pile Bantam

Champion Heavy Male - Australorp

Champion Heavy Female - Australorp

And three that didnt win ribbons but I liked the pics, especially the Aust Game who is showing what he thinks of coming second.

Yes he was a hit with his card eating antics, it is not that uncommon but this little cockerel was making such a display of biting off a piece and then playing with it in his pen. There were a group of kids from the local special development school there who watched him for ages, with one girl taking so many pictures and laughing so much at the bird who was eating his prize that her teacher told me it would be the highlight of her day.

That's gorgeous !

I'm sure it happens often, however I particularly enjoyed watching a duck at a show not long ago who reached past its own card, to get to its neighbour's card, and promptly tried to nibble at it. As much as I enjoyed watching this, I was kind enough to move the card just out of reach of said duck. It seems to me to be okay for your own bird to attack its own card, but a bit much for a neighbouring bird to damage one. :-)

Congratulations on a great day out! Lovely birds all round. Your Aussie Game obviously knows how to play to an appreciative audience :)

Btw, I straightened up the two sideways pics for you.

Thanks to all who have posted and sent PMs. After a bit of discussion we have decided to rename this thread so that as the show season evolves we accumulate a good set of pictures and results. Lots of people have said that they enjoy seeing pictures of birds from regions that they cant get to etc. So here's a chance to see them. Hopefully for those of you who have been thinking of making the step to show those wonderful birds that you have at home, you might get motivated to have a go.
