Just sorting the office and found my old scrap book with prize cards and pen card from my first major win - Reserve Bird in Show at the Leghorn Club of Victoria, in my first year of showing.

Bit of a laugh, must make sure I grow this years chickens well and see if I can win the same 30 years later - will have to be with a large fowl as I don't have the bantams any more.

Thanks all. Calendenia, I should say the scrapbook lasted 3 years and the only other pen card I seem to have kept was when I won my first Best in Show also at the Leghorn Club a couple of years later. Replacing the scrap book with digital pics these days.

It's heart warming to see this sort of personal history documented.

Im feeling a bit envious of your good memories of your first major win as mine were soured by a fellow competitor who was not happy that my ducks did better than hers as hers were from a proved show line. It made for a very uncomfortable day which I just wanted to take my birds and go home. Funny enough the next show we were at her birds did better than mine and she was so happy and friendly.

cheers Judy

he had never said it to me.He has now passed on.But for the years he showed against
me & if he won, I would say to him where did you buy that from. :yess `

I am sorry that you had these experiences there are bad folk everywhere. I have found that the majority of poultry exhibitors are willing to acknowledge a good bird when they see one
