I' d love to get there but unfortunately can't.
Hoping someone will post some pics of the Croads. Would love to see some hens, especially head shots and back line.
There are lots of males on Dr G but the females seem to be the 'also rans'. Lots of the Oz females seem to have a Cochin back line.

Where is the show Sue?

There were quite a few nice ones at the National.

I saw the ones at the National but didn't take any photos.
The National show is in Dubbo.
The Vic. one in July is at the Royal Melb. Showgrounds.

Hi Eggy, The short answer - was slow, but the results were much better than I had expected. Reggy (rooster eggy) was just what the old girls needed.
Took some pics yesterday. I''ll post tonight

You had some nice birds in Sydney. Well done

The previous 5 are about 7 months old and the rest about 5 months.

They still have a long way to go. There is a huge variation in type.
Next task is to improve the backline.

Let them grow ...... They look great ... You will be surprised how they shape up at 9 months
The 3 top pullets look really good... The young girls have lots go growing to do
And the first set of photos ... Bottom cockerel ... NICE
Big deep body ..
Now
Big question do you 1-2 cockerals that you would sell??
Lost my big rooster ruining my. Breeding plans .
Have blues but I really don't want to cross colours

If I can work out how will post 2 pictures
On of 2 pullets at about 6 months and then 9 months .... You will see the difference ...
Thrilled that 1 of them got 5 th at the national
Have a couple of croad pictures from the national as well .
Melissa.

Thanks eggy. Why do you prefer the 2nd cockerel over the first? I was thinking that his back was too long and flat.

I will have one spare to use this season if you'd like him. Possibly a couple of others but I think they will be too young (late hatch).

Sue,
The back will get shorter as they fill out. But I wonder if No 1 will have a bit of a squirrel tail?
I think they are beautiful - but then, I'm totally biased.

By the way, I have spares, but in East Gippsland.

East gippsland .... How far from Albury??i think your too far .!
Sue I like the deep big shape of him......that flat back at his age is nothing to worry about in fact you want it ....flat back, poking up tail .
And yes globi ,....was wondering if the others tail would be too much

Thank you both. I was concerned about his tail - hadn't noticed it until I looked at the photos. I'll have another look at both tomorrow. The 2nd boy is the same age as the younger pullets.

A couple of better shots of 2 of my young roosters. Both have somewhat of a squirrel tail which I will have to work with.
No 1 (pics 1 & 2) is staying
No 2 (pics 3 & 4) is to go

Click on them to rotate.
