Well the 2016 show season for us is done and dusted.

I did 5 shows this year.
My silver laced Wyandottes did OKish, a few Best of Breeds, plenty of 2nd/3rds and the highlight for me was defending my Royal Melbourne Show title from last year.

My son with his Orpingtons did a fair bit better.
Twice Junior Bird of Show (2 different birds which was good.), heaps of 1st, 2nd and 3rds, quite afew Best of breed and Champion Orpington Junior. And Victoprian Championship: Champion Softfeather Heavy large.

I certainly wouldn't be disappointed with that year and your son should be very proud.

The Orpington Club of Australia has been brilliant with him, when he first showed last year at the Melbourne Royal, quite a few breeders wanted to meet him, as most juniors don't go for the larger fowl. They have provided hm with some mentoring and guidance on breeding and even some new genetics, the birds this year are the results of that help.

And this w/end he is setting up a breeding pen at a mates place,

Ron

I'm really pleased that he's found a way to breed given the restrictions on roosters at your place.
