Hi there
Does anyone here have any experience in living with ducks and dogs? I have ducks (obviously!) and my boyf and I were thinking of getting a border collie. We've been thinking about it on and off for ages but after talking to someone last night about how easy it is to handle her border collie, we're a little more keen. Can they live well together?
I'm not worried about how much time we have to spend with the dog but how the two animals will interact.

I have hunting dogs (Hungarian Vizsla's) they live with our chooks ducks cows sheep rabbit and guinea pigs. They were taught right from the very start to not touch the other animals. THey don't touch them but they DO round them up, 'hunt' them but only when I let them. I know when the animals have had enough. Border Collie's are sheep/cattle dogs..if you get it from a pup you should be able to train him/her to live with the ducks. Or more to the point for the ducks to live with the dog.
You may find that your collie will herd them around endlessly if they are in the same yard.
