2 of my ducks have been escaping from their enclosure (which is huge!) every morning, only to lie on the other side of the fence! When I put them back in they don't escape again until the next morning. Weird stuff!

Yeah - just a duck thing. Often when i let my calls out, they will go for a fly - then spend the morning wanting to get back in.

Foxes love ducks , I have seen them walk past pens and pens of chooks to get a duck . You might want to fence the top to stop them getting over or think about a wing clip . Fairly common for a lot of animals to get a bit energetic early in the morning just after sunrise.
