Hi all,
Is it breeding season for ducks again already ?
My girl patch is laying again. I found 10 eggs in a nest but took 6 away. She wasn't setting yet, just laying. I didn't really want babies yet.
All 3 of my girls are laying again so am getting plenty of duck eggs again .. beauty .. love them mmm mmm . :)

When I was down at Lake Apex after the Gatton auction (which I missed) I was enjoying the sight of all the water birds, especially the geese there. Over a dozen of both sexes. There are both white and the Toulouse.
What I saw, and couldn't believe my eyes about, was a pair of geese mating. Isn't that very early, or are they telling us something. They dont usually start till end of June or July. :?

Differennt geese start at different times. I have one pait that does not start until november, and another pair that start round the begining of may.

If they are laying and are fertile - the breeding season has started for you :)

My chooks have not yet started to lay in a big way - but the fertility is good, i have started to set the eggs and the chicks are nice and strong.

Honk
