If there is already a topic on this let me know , i did have a look through the first few pages , but running out of time to go to work and i am inpatient :oops:

When is the Duck breeding season? At what age to ducks start laying eggs?

Most fowl and poultry have an increased desire to breed in Spring. You can expect some sign of that in mid to late winter.

Ducks can lay all year (200+ eggs a year for Runners and Campbells). My young runners just came into lay a few weeks ago then stopped suddenly (moulting?).

Depends on which breed you have but I believe they lay from a similar age to most chooks (anywhere from 6 - 12 months).

i have mussies and thay will breed all year around , but most will start spring time, for showing i breed in september & october

All 3 of my mussies are breeding again now. This is Patch's second brood she hatched one lot in December.

This girl sure does. She is not a big duck but has plenty of go in her. Very protective too. Will take on any other duck or drake when being a mum or mum to be.
