Actually I should qualify that... the older chinese pair haven't done anything although the girl thinks she's broody (on nothing) while half of the younger chinese fell in luuuurv with the embden who IS sitting on about 5 eggs but probably all crosses unless someone was being sneaky.

Bad year I believe for geese (extremely hot then cold , well that is the case here)I was talking to a mate yesterday with a flock of about 50 birds , that only got 5 goslings from the first nestings .

I have had a poor year so far too, between losing breeding females and the egg count from all geese being down its tough.

I have about 20 goslings out so far, mostly pomeranian, 1 toulouse, 1 embden and a few pilgrims.

Same here, no goslings this year as it seems all eggs laid were infertile. Very frustrating when geese are so seasonal and you wait all year for.....nothing.

Same with lambs... 3 sets of twins, and a single, 5 girls, 2 boys.
Goats.. 3 sets of twins from 3 does, 4 girls, 2 boys.
Gotta love kiddies but I'm missing having gozzies this year.

The goose is laying again after problems with eggs and crows.

Hopefully I should have lots of babies next month.

I have 19 girls stilling on from 1 to 14 eggs, average 5 and I have 2 girls still to sit, 1 African with 7 eggs and 1 Toulouse with 5 eggs.

So I have to get some goslings sometime.

Also I have two new pairs that I have no given (built) a pen for and they have not laid yet.

I thought the first were due last weekend, but all I got was 6 white and 3 blue turkey poults instead (out of 10 eggs). So I am happy about that
