Hi Jase,

No, Nobby has never been shown, and I was hoping someone could give me an idea of his colouring? would it be Cinnamon?

cheers

Please be carefull, the term mammoth is open to interpretation, and sometimes midgets are classified as mammoths.

Tribe of Honks advice re: weighing birds, mammoth description, and weight stipulations is accurate, good and succinct. Sorry, not offending others, just haven't time to read all posts.

Hi rollyard,

thanks for your input, I have no intention of selling him or showing him, either as Mammoth or otherwise, I was just curious ....

cheers

hi shani,
the term mammoth is a hard 1 ?
i would say , once a drake is around the 8 kgs or so he would maybe in the mammoth class ? , im not to shore someone like bb/ rollyard/ or honk would know more about the weight of a mammoth ,

i would show your drake, i like him a lot , as for color wow
he could be called, ? maybe , pale bronze, chocolate , or could be getting towards the rarest color a fawn, the girl of the same color thats on here would be a good 1 to try with him , i would love to see what color you would get from them, ?

regards jase

Hi Jase...

haha.. I'm not too keen on the idea of showing.. especially after reading some posts about 'washing the drake' before a show... I think that was BB and BB ?? ... I looke at Nobby today and though about weighing him... hmmm... he is a bit too big to argue with, so left him in peace !

I took some photo's of some of the ducklings this morning...they are SUCH little posers !!... and if my phone line holds out, I might try and post a couple...
cheers

Shani

without seein him in person, I would class him a big bird, he is just shy of what others call a mammoth.

Now for his colour, I have to agree with Jase, light chocolate, pale bronze, ? Who cares he is nice look bird.

And I put my stamp of approve on him "I would have him in my flock anyday - when can I come and pick him up    "

As for showing, I do not think many judges would appricate him as we do, so do not show, leave him with his girls.

Shani, I've been peeping and watching as I love the colour of your fellow and the others. To post the pics in here, click on the photos in the gallery and look for the "BB Code". It'll look like
[img]http:%20//gallery.%20backyardpoultry.com%20/data/562/medium/3_Drakes_and_some_of_their_girls_Small_.jpg[/img]

(I've inserted spaces so that the text will show rather than the picture hopefully. You'd copy and paste it straight into the body of the post though.)

You've got lovely birds and lovely 'babysitters' for them as well. :D

Perfect! :-) And don't worry, I'm "technologically challenged" myself! LOL I'd blush to mention how many times I experimented trying to work out how to post to boards, forums and e-mails at first... and lets not even touch setting up my blogs...
