Very well said Flogs

I think you may just have converted another duck breeder to mussies. If I didn't already have them, I would go out and get some tomorrow :) . Poultry1 will be knocking down doors to get at them by the time we have finished :P Make sure you lock your mussies up well everyone

Oops, I think we may have got a bit off track with this thread :hmmm:

Cheers :P

Hi everyone, well my mussies don't eat much and i actually think the Saxony's eat more for their size. I don't know if they do anything different hear but my mussie don't stink  ! They do hiss though but it's not that bad 8) . I have to agree with you poultry1 can't stand plain whites or black and whites but that's just me. As for the cruncles i think there nice and if you don't like them most female don't have the big chunky ones that most show quality males have you could start with just a couple of females :) .

Regards David :)

Thanks saxascovy. That would be great. Please get in touch when the girls start laying again. The bantam saxonys look great. I currently have white mallards and love them too. I keep all of my breeds seperate to keep the lines pure. I prefer it that way. My crossbreeds are for egg consumption and broody qualities. Talk to you later.

Hi Quacker, I think this is getting a little off topic, if you want any other info or want to ask me something about the Saxony's send me a PM or I'll send you a PM when they start laying again 8) .

My 2 muscovy girls were bought to use as broodies, to hatch saxony eggs
I won't add my muscovy photos to this topic but there are 3 photos in the gallery if you'd like a look.

G, depends on where you are.

I will have a number of Saxony bantam ducks and drakes for sale in the near future when I have sorted out my keepers/show birds. My line is very much to standard and have been very successful in the shows I have attended so far this year (4 shows with up to 18 birds shown) winning best Saxony Bantam at each with 3 different birds.

I thought you duckers might like to see this link viewtopic.php?f=14&t=7979998 :)
The Saxony's are large and apparently, great quality (not sure about the male's head in the foreground though). I was part of a conversation at Euroa where the fellow i was standing with said he had seen this flock and that they were fantasic birds; as big as Pekins and beautifully marked.

It's nice to know they have chosen to keep the flock pure.
