Hi all,

Is anyone here an expert of Muscovy colour genetics? The attached pictures show a few birds we are s bit confused on when it comes to colour. Any help would be appreciated!

In particular the photos where there are two birds held together for comparison. One is more "lavender" looking and the other looks "buff".

Cheers

I think the ducks in the first, second last and last photos are crosses. The colours don't really occur in Muscovies as far as I know.

They do indeed look like hybrids with a mallard type! Best double check there were no mallards, Perkins, Aylesbury, Elizabeths etc about?

They are definitely pure they are full red head Muscovies now. We figured out the colours after some conversation with knowledgeable Muscovy breeders :)
