I bought these two girls at the last Goulburn Auction. Went to sell Mussies, NOT to buy Mussies.
There were also males and blue females with the same markings. The (lacing?barring?) continues right around their breast/belly and back. They are fully marked under their wings. The last pic is the back with the wings lifted away.
What can you tell me?
Can I reproduce it without a 'matching male'?
Are they just Mussies with an undesirable/dodgy feathering?

No idea what it's called but I've seen it before on all dark birds (no white patches).

If you mate to a non-barred male and fail to get any ducklings with the pattern, you could mate one of the drakes back to the mother generation.

Thanks andrewschooks. Maybe that's why they were being sold. All the birds had white patches.
Will try the mating, nothing to lose, my ducks are only 'backyarders'. Will put them to my black (with minimal white) drake.
