This is one of the male Mussies that I hatched last year. Is he any particular colour?

Thanks pjh - that was my thought. If so it has been well hidden in my other birds - although I was given some 'unknowns' a couple of years ago, so presumably has been lurking in there somewhere.
If it is Lav. and I can produce some more, will some have more/stronger colour?
Does Lav in ducks work like Lav in chooks?

He is beautiful. He doesn't have much caruncles around his face...?
I didn't know they came in any other colours than white and black/brown....? Has he fathered any lavenders?

He was only hatched last December so is still a young bloke - but definately a bloke. Will probably get him working later in the year. He is not a mammoth but already a good size.

He is lavender yes. Has he reproduced, and what have you mated him with ?

Unfortunately he woke up unexpectedly dead one day. I put all the eggs I could find in the incubator but he was running with a mixed group of ducks and another drake. Eggs due in a couple of weeks if all goes well. They looked OK at candling so it's now up to the bator

He was a lovely looking bird, and so unusual for a duck to die unexpectedly !

Blue Swedish Ducks

It was another one of a few late afternoon deaths that I had last year (mainly roosters) - no previous sign of ill health, fit and ready to go in the morning and dead under a bush in the afternoon (I can only think snake as they were still limp when I found them and there was a local snake explosion last year).
This particular drake had grown out to a big boy with a nice type (of course one of my best).

Nice to see some activity on the duck threads. I'm very much on my "L"s here. Please keep them busy
