Anyone got any information about selling duck eggs? I have recently discovered that it is illegal to supply eggs in Qld without accreditation, and was wondering if anyone has any information around this ridiculous rule which appears to only apply in Qld. We are a small school setup who try to make a bit of money back by selling eggs to staff and the general public. TIA

These rules apply in all states, and are slightly different in each state. The rules for duck eggs can be more stringent than for hen eggs because ducks are inherently housed and maintained in conditions where there is water therefore mud therefore increased contamination risk, real or perceived.

If no Queenslanders here can advise you, best to enquire through your local Council, Dept of Health and Dept of Ag or Primary Industries. Requirements should be available on-line if you do some searching.
