I have three young Muscovy ducks - 2 females and a drake. They are about 6 months old. The drake has been very active sexually and the females look to him for protection. I also have three Orpington hens and three young Silkies. The Silkies are only about 4 months old. One of them started crowing last Monday which could be a coincidence but seems to have triggered the drake's crazy behavior. He runs around the yard flapping his wings, then ducks into the coop , nose in and tries to hide. He barely eats and hasn't been in his pond for a week. The female ducks do not know what is wrong with him and now seem to be bounding with the chickens. We are very worried about him. He is not happy. Any ideas ? Could he feel threatened in some way. All the females, chicken and ducks, have stopped laying eggs but that is normal for the FALL. ANY IDEAS would be great. I could take him to the Vet but this is more of a behavioral problem than anything physical....
