I was wondering what everyone fed their geese? I feed mine whole corn, and I don't know what else to feed them. Also should I soak the corn or just feed it to them dry? I don't know a whole lot about geese, but I would sure like to know. Thank you.

Mike

We've got a few geese running around the paddock. Wouldn't have a clue what breed they are lol. We don't feed them much at all apart from the occassional handful of grain or whatever vege scraps that might get thrown over the fence. Ours free range all day. They are top lawn mowers! I think they must be getting enough vitamins cos they are quite fat. One of them is actually sitting on a clutch of eggs atm. Tried to have a look at them the other day but the goose wouldn't let me anywhere near her. Man she's got a bite on her-OUCH!

geese do best on grass.

BUt when the grass is in short supply or is not 'tasty' feed them wheat, or some bread. If you use bread make sure it has a lot of graqins in it like multi grain or rye - mine get returns from a bakery - its all orgainc rye and the geese refuse white bread now.

Corn is too hot for summer, but is ok at this time of year.

Regards

Honk

Ditto everything above! :D

Let them mow your lawn for you!

Vege scraps, bread, chook food......none of it will kill them!
