Excellent book David and Sigi! :D My night (week, month, year...) is planned reading and digesting this great book! It's probably going to kick start a few more projects for me too :P

OH MY GOODNESS

Got mine today. A standing ovation David and Sigi.

I am stunned at how great his book is. It is light years ahead of any thing else I have seen.

Possibly the greatest compliment I can give, my wife said, "Now thats a book about chickens even I would read".

Everyone get one - NOW.

Wow! Mine came today and it is just beautiful. I didn't expect it to be so big and so well presented. You've done a spectacular job David.

Fantastic!

Congratulations David and Sigi on producing such a great book. The info is great (still to read all of it yet), the photos and illustrations are just wonderful, and the overall design is very professional. And hardcover, too!

Wow...well done.

Cheers
Leanne

I have been totally absorbed in my copy for the last few days. Absolutely fantastic book. Thank you David and Sigi. My non chooky other half glance over my shoulder and thought it was a chicken cook book  When I explained it about colur genetics he wanted to know what soup had to do with it

I can see I will be referring to it over and over again. It certainly make a much easier explanation of colur genetics for me.

Thanks heaps. A very special book.

as above

Mine arrived yesterday - it is great. The pictures help explain the concepts of the genetics - there is so much to understand and learn - it could be read again and again and then again when trying to apply it to the particular colours you have. It is not difficult to understand though just very comprehensive.

It opens up so many ideas - I'm going to need more chooks I think

Dear David and Sigrid,
got my copy today from the post office :D . :bounce: :catch:

It is amazing. :D  :D  :D Hugely professional, jam packed with detailed information, high quality photographs and exceptional illustrations. Sigrid! Your illustrations were an unexpected delight and are simply beautiful. Can't wait to read more of it and know it will be a book that is treasured always.

Thank you for writing it and going the hard yards of publishing it. It was most definitely worth the wait.

got mine today. so frustrating you cannot read and drive at the same time.

excellent book. bigger than i imagined. photos are excelent, crisp and clear and loads of them. i was thrilled to see so many colour patterns on so many different breeds. lots of lavender birds too!

the genetic explanation is kept simple and rereading the descriprion of the behaviour of different genes is refreshing and interesting. the discussions on such patterns as mille fluer is interesting and exciting.

i think it is an excellent book for the beginner and the experienced genetisist and the non believers. you would never believe the work has been translated from dutch as the language is free flowing and easy to read.

i would recomend this book not just to adults but proberbly 13 years and up and possibly younger for the enthusiastic child. i do not feel their is a need for any science education as this book fulfills sigis' promise of being written for the ignorant in such fields.

it is not only a fascinating book to read and an extremely good handbook for the poultry breeder but it also makes a beautiful coffee table book that you would not feel ashamed to show your mother (or father or partner or work mates).

thanks blackdotte (not a bad piccy of you in it too), now my neighbour wants one and i am sure there will be others putting up their hands (well i hope as it beats having to explain things to people).

great work and an excelent price. when is the next volume coming out?

k
