Referencing sources when quoting from books, magazines or websites on the forum or in the gallery is important. In many cases this is a copyright requirement.
Would you please ensure that when you use material from other sources, you place a clear reference under or near it so that readers can clearly identify and find the source.
When using material that is older than 50 years and possibly out of copyright, it is still a good practice to put the source in when you can so that others can trace sources. I know that there are times when this is difficult, but please give what information is available in the description of an image or after a significant direct quote from a text.
Try to include:* author,
* the year of publication
* title of publication
In some cases it may be helpful to others to include the page number and publisher, but it depends on the situation whether this is necessary. We're not writing a thesis here, just trying to include a traceable source.
If a reference is overlooked a moderator may request that you provide that information.
Thanks for helping out with this.
