Yesterday whilst on an outing with a outing with a friend, we had the misfortune of his engine having a critical error :). Upon waiting for the towie to come I noticed a second hand shop and with time to burn, I thought I'd have a squizzy (not a usual store for me).
I made a b-line toward some old beer steins :) upon disappointment, I continued browsing. I noticed and old set of shelves with a jumbled array of magazines and hard covered books. In amongst the hards I noticed a bright red 6th edition of Turkey Managment by Marsden and Martin from 1955 :)
Content with what I had found and with the towie almost there, I went to the counter to and asked how much and the clerk said '$5' lol. Excited, I tried to keep a plain/unwavered face as I handed over the money.
An old friend of mine has a copy of this book, which I'd never had the pleasure of reading. Since then I have given it a good paruse/skim, though not a full read yet :) It seems to be a great and informative read with a really good section in the latter half @719 on about artificial breeding/insemination, with figures and diagrams :)
Although I've not fully read it cover to cover yet, I'd highly recommend it(&2nd hand shops lol) to anyone. Especially those with turkey's, gamefowl or anyone wanting to Ai their fowl.
