I have a full set of poultry prints by Stahmer and I would like to know if he painted Old English Game,I have framed one that I presume is OEG ,I can't find a print on the web to compare it,is it rare?

I think that Stahmer was quite a prolific illustrator in the US. There is a lot of his work in the "Poultry Tribune" newspaper. But as you would expect I have mainly seen RIR, Wyandottes etc.

Blackleghorn I dug the set back out of one of the packed boxes it is a set of 61 prints made available in the sixties I was fortunate to have this set given to me as a gift it was released by Watt Publishing company,Mount Morris Ill.
I n addition it states that there was allso 16 livestock prints available,do not know if I can photo some and put them up on here due to copyright.
I removed the print which I was sure was OEG from the frame and it was, so its off to be reframed in a more Royal frame befitting of its nature,I have seen prints for sale on the net but not the full set of 61.There is about half each of Schilling and Stahmer.

You have me very jealous Shorty. One of my "poultry nerd" things is collecting old books and prints. I have some treasures such as Comptons Australasian Poultry Book and some old Tegetmeier stuff but sounds like you have a treasure trove there.

Shorty just happened to notice that some of the Turkey illustrations in APS2 are by Stahmer from the Watt Pub Co. Do you have turkeys in your set?

Complete collection reproduced from the paintings,by Stahmer and Schilling published by Watt publishing company Ill.Would they be worth much as a full set, not that I will ever sell them, as they were a gift from a very dear freind of mine.
Turkey print was the dust cover on the set and I just added the other one for those interested in the cross breeding which I would be interested to know if anybody has bred them this way.
