Hi all,

I have been alerted to a python-proofing roosting idea in an issue of Organic Gardening Australia- I've done a quick check of the website and cannot find said edition in the back-issue section.

The idea involved wrapping barbed-wire around the centre of a sun-brella and then creating a two teir perch that the hens hop up to. Apparently it's confounded 4m long pythons from attempted chook-nappings.

I am super-keen to read this as I bagged 8 pythons last summer so it's time to build my fort knox coup for next season.

Is there anyone aware of said OGA edition that has this particular article?

Thanks!

It's not the regular mag but part of their "Essential Guide" series they have put out and should be available at your newsagent.

See here. It is also available as an e-mag.

Ahh- explains it.

I think the chook-cred of the authors automatically puts it on my A-list so I will definitely grab a copy.

Thanks for pointing me toward the right door!

Hi Roostar, I first read about this on Linda Woodrow's website - The Witches Kitchen. I'm not great with links but this is the article
http://witcheskitchen.com.au/we-have-chooks-again/
If the link doesn't work, do a search on her home page. It's a post titled 'We Have Chooks Again' from February 27 2011. The posts are archived and you can select this month.
