I also had no success accessing the given addy: http://www.chooknet.com.au/. Is that what you tried?

However, you may be able to enquire via their Facebook page which has had a post as late as 21 March 2015:
https://www.facebook.com/chooknet

Let us know how you get on please.

It is Aussie wide , they were trying to transfer to a new host , I think they may have run into issues with it . The forum part had crashed long time ago from being overloaded by search bots.

This is what was said on their facebook page when someone asked if they were unable to compete with Gumtree any more.

Quote:
No nothing to do with Gumtree, not competing with anyone, Chooknet is the first and original. (Chooknet existed even before Gumtree) My hosting provider has informed me there was a spambot attacking the pages so they have disabled the website until i remove the spambot ... last time this happened the spambot was Google and it cost me $150 to get it fixed! I have a few things to checkout first which could fix it, just have to try things one at a time, will be back again real soon!
