Judges Comment: In his photos he is lacking somewhat in type and body. Ideally should be thicker set, with the neck blending into the body more. The head is not broad enough, and is lacking the classic high skull. He appears too be a utility bird. He may be a young bird with some developing too do, hence the orange/red result.

Judges Comment: Very nice too see a rarer coloured mallard. Type is pretty good, although he could be a little longer and stronger in the head. Head colour is nice, the white ring appears to go all the way around the neck, it should leave a gap at the back, but could be the pics. Breast colouring looks pretty good, but may travel a little too far down the breast, cant see the ‘break point’. Bill colour nice, and wings nice and even in colour. claret should not appear in the rump. Overall a reasonable bird, but needs a little work. Keep on with them, they need breeders :)

Judges Comment: Quite a nice little duck. Breast colouring appears white/very pale. Overall body colouring is nice. Head bill and feet all well marked. She is not standing all that well, so type is hard too judge, but she looks pretty good, could have a bit more on her shoulders, tapering down too the tail. May not go so well against other colours, but in her own class should do well.

Judges Comment: I prefer the colouring and definition on the above bird. This bird overall appears slightly pale, with the blue standing out very strongly over the fawn, and not blending nicely. Hard to judge type as the bird is not standing. The colouring over the head and eye stripes are quite positive. Bill is good colouring, althought her bean could be slightly darker – but a minor point.

Judges Comment: A rather nice little duck. Colouring is good, type looks pretty good. Eye lines and head stripe are well defined and of good colour.
Wing colour is pretty good. A nice little bird, should breed well.

Judges Comment: Nicely typed bird, nice and deep and plump. Good overall colour, does seem too have a few darker feathers on the back. White under the bill is not desired. The bib is slightly large for my liking, and not quite in the heart shape – however still a very good representation of the breed.

Judges Comment: Very handsome young drake. Good overall colour, slightly lacking in feather condition. Good type, could be slightly rounder in the breast, but could just be the pics.
Neck and head very nice.

Overall Judge's Comments for the Waterfowl:

Overall a nice lot of birds. Most well presented and in good feather. Its hard to judge a bird without getting the feel of it, and results may vary at a physical show. Remember good pics help to ‘sell’ the bird to the judge, if you take a pic too close with a flash it will alter the colours being viewed. Getting the bird to stand is very helpful too. Nice to see some rarer breeds out and about. \

The saxony appeared the best of the bunch, with good colour type and no real detractions from the bird, followed by a nice neat well photographed silver mallard.

Well done too all who entered, thanks for taking the time too take the pics. Good luck with your breeding programs this season.
