Looks like there are going to be a few entries this time. I spotted a tether or two which might give a clue to one of the exhibitors, what do you reckon Ruff?

Still lots of entries to go yet. 68 all up, so very time consuming.

i am trying to get them done as quickly as I can

Please remember not to mention who has entered what yet, until judging is finished :)

Thanks
Melissa

unfortunatly some will spot mine but i have not thought of a way to make them incognito yet. think a pet section would be good but following the same rules of photographing but how to work out a judging criteria would not be easy.

it would be interesting to see a judges comment on the best photos for judging put into the"how to" section. i know how difficult it is to photograph birds, especially on your own. i see others have problems with birds sitting down and refusing to stand up. perhaps others could help with tips on photographing. mine were done while i was preparing them for a real show but it really put me behind on time getting birds finished and organized for the show next day.

There are a lot of entries this time round. Is 68 the most entries so far for the online shows?
Looking good so far, a lot of breeds so far that I don't know much about , but some lovely birds and photos going up.
I can't help wishing that the photos were bigger, I click on the thumbnail photos to see them larger, (and I know they do  ) but it just doesn't seem like they get much bigger.
Will there be, or is there any way of seeing them larger?

Well done so far Melissa, thankyou  68 entries is a lot to get through.

Rumpig-If you click gallery at the top of the page, then another window will pop up, then down to the third sub heading in blue that says online show, then to May 2010.
Hope this helps.

M

VIEWER'S CHOICE!!!!!!!!!!

after looking at some art exhibitions lately i feel that there should be a prize for viewer's choice. everyone should be able to vote for their favourite bird and the bird voted with the most favourites becomes the viewer's chioice. this can be done along the lines of a poll. this would encourage everyone to have a really good look.

ANY SUPPORTERS????

Sounds good Ruff.

Would it be favourite bird overall, or a favourite for each group eg waterfowl, softfeather, hardfeather etc?

Good idea Ruff, a bit like the packers prize in the Archibalds. Do you want to do it from the photos now in the gallery, or are you going to wait for Melissa to put them into categories, or won't that happen until the judges results are in?

i didn't think it should be complicated just the favourite bird as someone has to organize it. proberbly once all the photos go up and people can browse through them. seeing it takes a while to be judged and everyone is waiting impatiently they can make their vote and then it should be announced around the time of the announcement of the judging, perhaps at the announcment of the judging, or being like a poll we can watch what is the most popular bird. no one has to judge the bird on the merit as we are not judges, just a game to see how close the majority are. remembering the judge has the benifit of bigger photos too.
