Leghorn White Pullet

Exhibited By: Lawton Park

Judges Comment: A lovely fowl and a good representative of the breed, good to see nice bright eye and leg colour which can of course lead to some sappiness in the colour at the base of the feathers. A bit more leg under her would make her better still

Judges Comment: Another nice white leghorn female, stronger in the undercarriage than the other leghorn pullet in this class but weaker in the head points

Polish - White Crested Black Pullet

Judges Comment: Polish are a difficult breed to get right, this bird has a nice crest but there is too much black rather than a band at the base of the crest, I suspect the bird is a little light in weight as well. Whilst there are 30 points for crest in a Polish this means there are 70 points for the rest of the bird, so it is a juggling act. A reasonable representative of the breed

Judges Comment: Polish are a difficult breed to get right, this bird has a nice crest but there is too much black rather than a band at the base of the crest. However the cut-off between black and white is crisper in this bird than the other female entered in the class, I suspect that there may also be a little more weight on this bird as well. Whilst there are 30 points for crest in a Polish this means there are 70 points for the rest of the bird, so it is a juggling act. If I were judging her in the pen I would move her around a bit as there is some evidence of weakness in the toes in these pictures, which is hard to determine in a virtual show. A reasonable representative of the breed

Judges Comment: This male lacks in crest and the white component is a little brassy. He does appear to have good depth in the flank and chest which is lacking in some Polish
