Judges Comment: A typey older hen with good top and ground colour. Face and lobes lack colour that should improve as she comes on to lay. Picture raises some doubts about lobe colour but could be stress related

Judges Comment: This bird is standing very tall on his toes which detracts from his overall balance. I suspect his natural stance is better, a valuable stock bird for some matings

Exhibited By: sammysam98

Judges Comment: Bird of good type but appears to be missing a toe joint

Traffic Light: Red (a missing toe joint is a listed disqualification, whereas a missing toe nail is listed as a serious defect in the standards, either way it is not wise to breed from this bird)

Wyandotte Silver Pencilled Cock

image

image

image

image

Exhibited By: Tiesha Keogh

Judges Comment: Typical Silver Pencilled male. However, brassiness and gold tints suggest that he is a silver/gold (partridge) cross. Need to watch using these birds when breeding as don't want to lose the bright silver in males or females and the colour is not always as simple as the effects of silver and gold genes (lots written here on BYP on this topic)

Traffic Light: Orange (not really a show option - requires careful use in the breeding pen)

Judges Comment: Type is typical of many silver pencilled bantams but pencilling is mossy and the silver ground colour is yellowed in spots
