Hi,
I have never had legbars before so have no idea how to sex them. i looked up some photos of babies as apparently you can sex them then but i couldnt from the pictures i saw. Here is a cream legbar, my only one so i am only hoping its a girl, approx 6 weeks old
Any opinions appreciated

i am not certain as to whether the female legbars willhave a red breast though :? :? :?

I'm here :catch:

It's a girl. Although i haven't had any experience with Creams, I do know Australian birds are the same as Silver. We don't have the ig "cream" (inhibitor of gold) gene, so our birds should more correctly be called Crested Legbars.

She will most likely turn out very much like this girl (in colouring). I haven't hatched a pure Silver male yet (i have a couple of split golds),
Imageor this, which is a young bantam and seemed to have a more silver breast, maybe mine has autosomal red, i don't know :aaargh:

These are true Creams from the UK, as you can see the female looks in between Gold and Silver, and the male looks the same. I don't know their genotype, but i think they're pure gold with ig.

I haven't come across a photo of male and female Silvers so i can show you a comparison, give me a few years and i will :lol:
