egg egg you may want to make the photos smaller for dial up users.

Hi,

Thanks for all your replies. I don't know how to make the photos smaller, and I had to make the image quality worse becuase that downsized the file size!

Thanks for your replies, I'll do my best.

should appear smaller when you are just put it in here as a click able thumbnail you don't make them smaller when uploading.
Have a look in these Threads they should be some help to you, if not post in the technical helpline and ask your questions.

the first two silkies are definite girls while its hard to tell with the photo quality of the third, but it looks like it could be a girl

its better to have the big pictures in than have the individual thumbnails in this thread, it doesn't take too long to wait for the picture to come up, and takes forever to load up the thumbnails.

sorry about the quality of the photos, especially No.3! They would not stop moving!

the size pics you have put up are perfect Egg Egg, and youve done well considering they kept moving! as Caladenia pointed out, thumbnail pics are too small to see and not everyone has the time to go to the Gallery to see bigger ones.
if people are worried about starting a thread with lots of pictures they/you could always include a warning in the title, for example, 3 silkies, 2 pekins, - sex? -large pics! but you ve done well, and youve got some nice looking birds!

I support Yvonne and Jacquie regarding photo size in this particular thread and in the What is This? forum in general. :D

I agree with this approach:

infoaddict wrote:
I like seeing the larger picture immediately if the purpose of the thread is comment on (say) breed, gender, shape, etc - like others in the thread, I find it's easier to wait and have all the pics download at once (and yes, I've done it over dialup), than to have to click on each thumbnail individually. It makes it much easier to compare between photos for better sexing, breed definition, etc.

However, I like the thumbnails where they're being used to illustrate a point in a conversation, but aren't strictly the point of the conversation. For eg, in a discussion about styles of chook coop, and the 16th poster puts up their own coop, I find the thumbnail is excellent. It gives me an idea of what's being looked at, without having my bandwidth eaten by the large piccie.

That's the policy I've been using when putting up thumbnails or full-size - full-size if the picture is the point of the conversation, thumbnail for illustrating a written point. It's only my own philosophy though; not saying it's a rule or anything!

which was recently expressed here
:D

Thanks everyone! I'll get some better pic's of No.3 and post them, and for the rest I will hope that you are right.

he he - I was confused due to the dirty face which made the comb look weird. Yep I say girl as well for the white.
