lewy is the blue and speedy is the black splash(?) chick - they're really cute. note how my cat came over to gaze longingly at the chicks. :)

anyone want to guess sex? i'm worried that speedy's comb is a lot redder and a bit larger than lewy's. but the other chicks i hatched had much bigger combs. so i'm hoping that maybe size is more important than colour?

Oh my gosh!! They are so absolutely adorable!! ♥

I'm no expert, but I think speedy is a little man and lewy is a little lady. :?:

I'll say it again, they're absolutely adorable.. gosh now I want some pekin bantams.

This place is bad for me

Pekins are one of the easy ones at an early age..the boy is in the left on the top pic and girl to the right..what a gorgeous pair. From what I can gather with the splash cockerel and the blue pullet you will get a mix of blue black and splash babies? someone will correct me on this I'm sure but yes speedy is the boy and lewy is the girl.

at this point, as has been said, speedy is a boy and lewy is most probably a girl. i am not sure that you would call speedy splash, he doesnt look to have any blue in him, he looks like he may turn out black perhaps.
