I hatched these cute little bantams from eggs I bought and I was wondering if anyone could give me a clue as to what sort of breeds they might be. One has a much bigger crest than the others. They are nearly 12 weeks old and I'm fairly sure they are pullets. The cockerels developed their wattles and combs very early and I have already given them away.
Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Anna

mmm.... maybe Polish cross Silkie ?
The first one has that large Silkie eye. The last one has the most glorious Polish crest and they all have black Silkie skin.
I believe Polish can have black skin too so both parents must have had black skin for it to show in all chicks.
Do any have 5 toes to confirm Silkie in the mix?
Although they don't have the Silkie earlobes so could be Polish x something else??
Yes, they do look like pullets and all very cute!

It will be interesting to see what colour eggs they lay because they look slightly "araucana-ish" to me. If there is any araucana in their background, their eggs should be blueish.

Some of them do have 5 toes so I guess there's Silkie in the mix. The eggs I incubated were white.

Do we have some additional photos? The problem is that apart from the crests and dark legs, there's not a lot to go on. The feather pattern I don't know the name of and don't know what breed it may regularly appear in, but I don't think it's an Araucana, Silkie, or even Polish one. Maybe some bantam Wyandotte in the mix?? But honestly, at this point it's all guesswork.
