Hi all,

Below are some pics of the chicks; some were more co-operative than others. (Children & Animals and all that)

Anyone want to take a stab in the dark at their gender?

What are they crossed with? Because from where i'm sitting it looks like all are pullets apart from Number 5 but that is kinda pulletty looking too. Depending on the cross I think as I have light barred roosters here that look like pullet but are definately cock's because the cross was an australorp rooster over the lb rock hen.

From memory the crosses were Sussex, ISA and another, wyandotte?, but not sure exactly.

I was thinking the same thing; was a little suss on the buff coloured unit; which was the only one we were really hoping to be a pullet.

A pic of Dad for those that are interested; permission granted by breeder.

These chicks sure are getting some size to them now.

Crosses were Speckled Sussex, Light Sussex, Blue Laced Wyandotte & ISA, but it's a lucky dip.

The father is stunning. Are you going to keep any of his off spring?

4 of the best pullets, my dad will keep the remaining birds, and is hoping for a Rooster (here's hoping he only get's one).

I really want to keep the light coloured bird if she's a she.

In order of your last post:

pullet
pullet
pullet
?
pullet
cockerel
?
pullet

At 18-19 weeks I'd be expecting a lot of comb and wattles, and saddle feathers showing on cockerels, and really only number 6 says boy to me.

Thanks Ron,

I was hoping for 4 to 6 hens, so let's hope you're right.
