This pekin chick was very slow to feather compared to its other hatch siblings and so I was sure it must be a cockerel. However, at six weeks, it now looks more like a pullet, with virtually no wattles, small yellow comb and has a more 'pullet like' stature in the way it walks.

It is the only grey chick from the hatch (the others are black, with a different mother). Its father was a lavender and mother was either furness or porcelain.

Would appreciate any opinions on the sex - I have my fingers crossed its a girl, but don't want to get my hopes up too much yet.

Is it a lavender? It looks too dark, but I can't see how it could be a blue.
